VSC
The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) has received a list of
individuals with pending Vulnerable Sector Checks (VSCs) based on the receipts
submitted thus far, and will communicate directly with each pending individual
tomorrow to transition their status from "Pending" to
"Completed." Each Member will receive a list of coaches and officials
with pending VSCs later today. The deadline for submitting completed VSCs is
December 1, 2024, with some pending since early spring and others from October
onwards. Given variable processing times of police services (6 to 8 weeks), two
separate communications will be issued to address these timelines. Members are
asked to share the list of outstanding VSCs with their Associations to
facilitate follow-ups before the deadline. After December 1, 2024, a revised
list of coaches who have not submitted valid VSCs will be provided, and those
who fail to meet the deadline will be deemed ineligible and removed from
rosters or officiating. Individuals submitting VSCs after December 1, 2024,
must follow internal processes for reinstatement with their Associations. OHF
will continue working with those who submitted receipts after October 1, 2024,
to ensure timely submission and maintain eligibility until further notice. OHF
will provide ongoing communication, and Members are responsible for assisting
their Associations and removing ineligible individuals from rosters.
Associations are to directly communicate with individuals with pending VSCs and
follow the Member's process for reinstatement after the deadline. Cooperation
is essential to ensure compliance with the VSC requirements. Please read full attachment here 24-049VulnerableSectorChecks(VSCs)-PendingStatus.pdf
