Atom LL2, 2013-2014 (Collingwood Minor Hockey)

Big Team win 2-1 over Midland on Monday Mar 3rd in our final RR playoff game.   Fighting through the adversity of wearing borrowed 1992 San Jose Sharks jerseys, and biased reffing (4 penalties called on us, 0 for them) we were tied 1-1 with a minute to go.  Needing a win to potentially get to the finals, we pulled our goalie for the extra attacker and with 25 seconds left Porter found Brayden out front and he drilled the puck in for the winner!!  Awesome game by Jayla in net and solid play from everyone on forward and defense.   Hoping for the planets to line up for a possible 2nd place ...

The Atom LL 2 team had a great weekend with a hard fought tie in Creemore 3-3 on Friday night and followed that will a full game effort to beat Elmvale 3-1 in Elmvale Saturday afternoon.   The team was lead by Alex T. with 2 goals including the game winner and a great outside move and shot by Tyler R. to get us going in the 2nd period.  Jayla L. played great again in net stopping 15 of 16 shots and steadying the team.  Great effort & win to keep us in 1st place so far in the playoff round robin.  

Comeback Complete!  Avenging an earlier loss this season, we had a great 3 period effort from the team! after being down 3-1 at the end of the 1st, we cut the lead with a big goal from Alex Trevisan who finished with a HAT TRICK! The 3rd period we dominated the play and scored 4 goals and with Jayla stopping everything, we cam away with a big 6-3 win and our 2nd in a row.  Goals by Alex with 3 and Tyler, Emma and Grant all getting one each.  Assists from Tyler, Bronwyn, Makenzi, Porter (2) and Noah.  Solid D from Max, Jude, Noah, Bronwyn and Hunter!
