Reminder
Reminder of Parent Conduct & Sportsmanship During Playoffs
Dear CHMA Families,
As we enter the playoff season, we want to recognize the excitement, energy, and pride that come with this time of year. Playoffs are a meaningful milestone for our players, coaches, and families, and we sincerely appreciate the enthusiasm and support shown from the stands.
With that excitement, we would like to take a moment to remind all parents and spectators of the expectations for behaviour and conduct while attending CHMA games—both at home and away.
Our athletes are children who are learning, growing, and developing not only as hockey players, but as individuals. As adults, it is our responsibility to model respectful, positive, and sportsmanlike behaviour. The example we set in the stands has a powerful impact on our players’ experience and their understanding of teamwork, respect, and fair play.
We ask that all parents continue to adhere to the CHMA Parent Code of Conduct, including:
-
Demonstrating respect toward players, officials, coaches, volunteers, and opposing teams
-
Refraining from inappropriate language, criticism of officials, or unsportsmanlike behaviour
-
Supporting all players in a positive and encouraging manner
-
Remembering that development, safety, and enjoyment of the game come first
Failure to follow the Parent Code of Conduct may result in further action by the Association. Player safety and maintaining a positive hockey environment remain our top priorities.
If concerns or issues arise, we ask that they be addressed through the appropriate channels in accordance with CMHA and OMHA policies. Questions may be directed to [email protected].
Thank you for your continued support of our athletes, coaches, and volunteers. Let’s work together to ensure the playoff experience is competitive, exciting, and respectful—something our players can be proud of both on and off the ice.
Sincerely,
CHMA Board of Directors
