Coach Huggins and his family send a deeply heartfelt thank-you to every single person who has lifted them up during this fight with love, strength, and hope.
Last night, our Jr. Blues family came together for something far bigger than a game. The Chuck-a-Puck fundraiser in support of Coach Chris Huggins and his Stage 4 cancer fight was a powerful reminder of the strength, compassion, and unity that defines our hockey community.
A very special thank-you to Darrell and Amanda MacRae, whose kindness and initiative sparked the idea for this event. Your hearts set this entire night in motion, and we are so grateful.
To everyone who helped bring this together:
🏒 U18 LL1 vs U18 LL3 for an exciting 1–1 game
🏒 U18 LL2 volunteers for stepping up selflessly
🏒 Our manager, Carolyn McKeown, and parent volunteer Amanda Watts — your organization, care, and heart held this event together
🏒 The CMHA Board for your support
🏒 Coaches of U18: Kristen Slemko (LL1), Steve Aldred (LL2), and Darryl MacRae (LL3)
And to our entire Jr. Blues family — we cannot thank every family, parent, and player enough. The way you showed up, donated, cheered, and embraced the Huggins family was truly overwhelming.
Thank you to our generous prize contributors:
• Mark Parish – custom event board
• Jenni Booth – Brightside Deli & Catering gift card
• Michelle Kemper – PWHL tickets
• Darryl MacRae – Smokey Joe’s package + gear
• Kristen Slemko – Collingwood Blues tickets + sporting goods gift card
• Snezhana Zhurovich – Tim Hortons gift card
A special thank-you to Tracy O’Neill for creating and managing the GoFundMe. Because of you, the support continues — and it’s not too late to donate.
With over $8,000 already raised online and $1,185 raised last night, our community is now approaching $10,000 in support for the Huggins family. ❤️

💙🏒 This is community. This is family. This is what hockey is all about.
