IMPORTANT INFO U8 and U9, News (Collingwood Minor Hockey)

WELCOME BACK!!!!

LET THE FUN BEGIN!

We encourage all players to come out to the U8 and U9 open skates. These skates are for ANY players signed up in the U8 or U9 Division and are part of your 2025/2026 registration fees. These skates will be used to get back to the basics and get players used to skating again. These dates are:

Open Skate 1 – Wednesday Sept 10^th – 4pm-5:10pm @ Central Park Arena

Open Skate 2 – Friday Sept 12^th – 7:30pm – 8:20pm @ Central Park Arena

Open Skate 3 – Saturday Sept 13^th – 9am – 9:50am @ Central Park Arena

U8 and U9 Local League Families will receive additional information post tryouts.  Keep an eye on the CMHA website for updates.

 

For those players that are planning to try out for the U9 MD Team, you MUST register ahead of time at this link, https://page.spordle.com/collingwood/register/1f086d60-0f9d-600e-a4ed-06d853421783. The fee is $100 for 3 guaranteed tryout skates. After the third skate, cuts will be made. The MD team is a pathway towards our AA team and will be used as such. New in 2025/2026, the OHF has made changes to the program to allow full ice games to begin in November. With these changes, the roster size is still being evaluated .

Any U8 players/ Goalies trying out for the U9MD Must be evaluated in the top 5 of the U9 age group to be considered for the U9MD team.

 

Additional Rep/Development fees will be applicable to those players that make the MD team. The additional fee is estimated to be around $200/player with additional team funds coming through fundraising efforts.

 

U9 MD Tryout Dates/times:

Evaluation 1 – Sunday Sept 14^th – 9am – 10:20am @ Central Park Arena

Evaluation 2 – Tuesday Sept 16^th – 5:40pm -7pm @ Central Park Arena

Evaluation 3 – Thursday Sept 18^th – 6:10pm – 7:10pm @ Eddie Bush Arena

Evaluation 4 (if applicable) – Saturday Sept 20^th – 9am – 10:10am @ Central Park Arena

Team Practice – Sunday Sept 21^st – 9am – 9:50am @ Central Park Arena
