🚨 NEW: Youth Mentorship Program Launches!

Be a Leader. Make an Impact. Leave a Legacy.

CMHA is proud to introduce the Youth Mentorship Program — a brand-new opportunity for high school players and goalies to give back to the game they love. This initiative allows experienced youth athletes to mentor younger players while building leadership skills, earning volunteer hours, and creating meaningful community connections.

💰 2025 Rep Fees Update

Rep Fees for the 2025 season will be $400. This includes:

·       Extra ice time, referees, and league administration costs

AND

·       Access to The Hockey Mill Collingwood, a cutting-edge hockey development centre opening late summer. This facility offers advanced training zones including skating treadmills, shooting lanes, goalie areas, and a hockey-focused gym.

Highlights:
• Real-time video feedback on skating mechanics
• Customized shooting & stickhandling drills
• Pro Circuit training for strength, mobility & injury prevention

We’re excited to have this partnership and bring this elite development opportunity to our players!

Note: Due to limited ice availability, development skates will not be offered at this time. We’ll notify families if space becomes available.


📝 Fall Tryout Registration Now OPEN!

Deadline: August 31st

Fall tryouts are available for:

  • U18A
  • U18B
  • U15B

Schedules for tryouts, pre-skates, and Body Contact Clinics will be posted in August.

Important Notes:

  • If you are Local and tried out in Spring for U14A, U15A, or U16A — you do not need to re-register.
    Simply email: [email protected] and indicate which team (U15B or U18B) you’re trying out for.
  • If you're a Nonresident or trying out for U18A, please complete the registration via the Tryout Registration 2025 form.

👕 CMHA Jersey Policy – Please Read!

To ensure consistency and uphold our sponsorship agreements, CMHA requires the following:

Game Jerseys:
• Must be identical across the team
• No extra sponsors, patches, or names
• Only Nissan and Toyota logos are permitted
• Jerseys must be approved by CMHA before ordering

Practice Jerseys:
• Can be customized freely (themes, sponsors, names, etc.)
• No approval needed

⚠️ Unapproved game jerseys may need to be replaced at the team’s expense.


🎉 50th Annual Huronia Tournament – Volunteers Needed!

Planning is underway for the 50th Anniversary Huronia Tournament, and we’re forming a Sub-Committee to make this year unforgettable.

To receive a 50% reimbursement on your team’s entry fee:
• Each team must have a Manager and 1–2 volunteers to assist with team operations

🏒 Now Hiring: Referee in Chief (Paid Position)

Position Type: Seasonal (7 months)
Compensation: $500/month
Application Deadline: July 15, 2025

Position Overview:
CMHA is seeking a responsible, organized, and experienced individual to serve as Referee in Chief for the upcoming hockey season. This key leadership role will oversee all aspects of referee management to ensure smooth, fair, and efficient game operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage scheduling for all game officials
  • Oversee referee development and training programs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all officials
  • Collaborate closely with the Ice Scheduler to ensure proper coverage
  • Ensure compliance with all league rules and CMHA policies

Qualifications:

  • Experience in hockey officiating and referee management (preferred)
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, referees, and volunteers
  • Reliable and committed for the full 7-month term

⏱️ Timekeeper Positions – Apply by July 15
CMHA is seeking timekeepers for the 2025–2026 season. Must 13 years of age  Dec 31st 

Details:
• Limited spots available – approximately 8 positions
• All successful applicants must complete the Off-Ice Officials Course in the fall

REMINDER- Registration Closing June 30th – Limited Time Only
Registration for the 2025–2026 Collingwood Minor Hockey Association (CMHA) season opens on June 1 and will close on June 30. This is short registration window to confirm your child’s place for the season.

🔔 Important: After June 30, registration will move to a waitlist basis, and placement will be dependent on roster availability. Early registration is strongly encouraged to avoid disappointment. Please register through the Registration tab on our homepage.

🏛️ Ice Time & Facility Advocacy
Ice availability continues to be a major concern as raised by many members in our community and at our AGM. We encourage all members to kindly write to Town Council in support of the proposed Multi-Use Recreation Facility, which would add multiple new ice surfaces and better meet the needs of our growing hockey community and other user groups or rinks.

🔐 Volunteer Requirements – Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
All parent volunteers are required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check. Please begin the process now to ensure eligibility for participation in the upcoming season.
