Why Staying Local Matters: Choose Collingwood

With open borders, families now have the freedom to explore hockey opportunities beyond their home associations. However, we believe that choosing to stay and play in Collingwood is a decision that brings lasting value—not just for your athlete, but for your entire family.

Here’s why staying local is a powerful choice:

A Stronger Sense of Belonging
CMHA isn’t just a hockey association—it’s a connected, supportive community where players, coaches, and families grow together.

Commitment to Player Development
Our programs are designed to challenge and support players at every level. From grassroots development to competitive play, we focus on long-term growth—not just short-term wins.

Less Travel, More Impact
Staying local means less time on the road and more time where it counts—on the ice, with your team, and at home with family.

Stronger Team Culture
When players grow up together, they build deep bonds, shared experiences, and a strong sense of team identity that carries through every season.

Pathways for Every Athlete
We offer competitive opportunities at all levels, from house league to rep and B-level teams. No matter your child’s goals, they can pursue them right here in Collingwood.

Family Engagement
Our association values family involvement. Whether it’s coaching, volunteering, or simply cheering from the stands, your participation matters and makes a difference.

Investing in Our Own Future
Every player who stays contributes to a stronger program. Your commitment helps us improve coaching, expand teams, and build a better hockey experience for everyone.

At CMHA, we are building more than hockey players—we’re building confident, capable individuals in a community that cares. Choosing to stay in Collingwood is a choice to support that vision.
