2022 Regional 'A' SilverStick in the books
Hi CMHA.
Our first ever Regional 'A' SilverStick is in the books and it was a great weekend. Our teams struggled making it in to the Semis, facing strong competition from teams attending out of the Tri-County league. Not a bad thing, seeing what we expected to be stronger hockey, and our U18, U15, U13, U11 teams facing adversity.
So many teams commented on the rich history playing at Eddie Bush arena and loving the atmosphere. Visiting coaches frequently made reference to loving playing in Collingwood and visiting such a booming and bustling town. All the kids had such a fun weekend and look forward to it again next year.
A big thanks to our Co-Chairs this tourney Dale West and Scott Hewlitt making sure the tournament went smoothly. Also to all our volunteers, referees, and time-keepers for making it happen.
Of most important note..., this is our Regional SS Chair's victory lap! Dale West has been hosting our SilverStick since it's inaugural almost 25 years ago and we would like to give a big shout out to him in thanks for all his volunteer hours and organization of this successful tournament, helping to put Collingwood Hockey on the map.
I would like to invite everyone out to the December 9-11 SilverStick LL Weekend where there will be a small ceremony and presentation for Dale and Linda West, in gratitude for all they have done for us and our kids. Exact time and Location TBD over the next week, but it will be at Eddie Bush of course!
