2022 HURONIA Tournament Success!!
Attention CMHA families,
The 2022 Huronia "A" Tournament is in the books and was a big success. It was refreshing seeing the kids playing hockey again in full swing, and the Huronia was a big part of it. This year showed great demand for our tournament and necessitated us carrying extra teams in divisions.
Our U10A, U12A, U14A, U16A teams competed this year as a Minor only tournament. (Our sanction for Regional Silverstick "A" is Major only) All of our teams were super strong in their divisions, all having a REAL chance to win each Championship.
Feedback from numerous teams was how amazing the Huronia tournament is,
and that they love coming to Collingwood both for the town and for great
hockey.
U10A Tournament CHAMPIONS!
Went 5-1 for tournament, while beating a really strong Oakville Rangers team 4-1 in the Semis only to meet up with Norfolk Knights (only pool loss) Rematch in the Championship game, winning it 2-1 in a barn burner Huronia Classic.
U12A Consolation Champions.
Met up with a couple really good teams in this division. Centre Wellington with +21 GD was a great team to see play. The U12's advanced to Consolation Championship and won in convincing fashion. Great tournament overall.
U14A Tournament CHAMPIONS !
Were undefeated going 5-0 in the tournament. A Semi Final game against EGillimbury Eagles 3-1 victory led them back to a destiny game with Leitrim Hawks from Ottawa for the Final match. It was a back and forth game with the Blues prevailing 4-2 including and empty netter. Another huge success for this cohort!
U16A Semi Finalists.
Also went undefeated in pool play, going 4-0. Matched up against Newmarket Renegades for the Semi Final and lost 2-1 with what was a wild special teams filled 3rd Period.
