2022 Season Start
Hello all

The start of the 2023 season is fast approaching and thank you to all that participated in some skill development sessions over the month of August.

So key start dates (please keep checking the website for any updates):

U14, U15, U16, U18 REP A

1. Sept 6th to Sept 9th Pre-skates start (note this is for all players that have paid the tryout fees only).  We would     like to make sure that all players attend these pre-skates so that we can confirm all tryout registration and NRP     sign ups are accounted for and have the proper documents.   Coaches will be running the skates so that they     can start to meet the players and discuss what they are looking for in a player  (These are not a tryout).

1. Sept 10th to 16th will be the 4 tryouts for each division.  Please go to the website for date and times of each     skate.

2. Sept 17th to Oct 2nd will be team practices and exhibition games

U10,  U11, U12, U13 REP A

2. Sept 10th to Sept 20th Pre-skates start (note this is for all players that have paid the tryout fees only).

3. Sept 24th to Oct 1 will be the 4 tryouts for each division.  Please go to the website for date and times of     each skate.

4. Oct 2nd Practice will start.

Note that once a player has been released from tryouts they are to go to the following Local league or BB skate if we are fielding a team in that division (TBD).  NRP will return to there home center.   Collingwood will be looking into Roster Select options in each division for players that don’t make a “A” team if the numbers and coaching staff support it.  These will happen in Mid-October.

WHAT IS ROSTERED SELECT

Rostered Select (RS) hockey is a bridge between house league hockey and a more competitive level of hockey (MD, A, AA & AAA). All house league players are invited to try out for the RS team for their age group. If a player is chosen, and agrees to join the RS team, the player still plays with their house league team as well as the RS team. These 2 teams run independently of each other. The RS team will play against neighboring towns' RS teams and may also play in up to 3 tournaments throughout the season. There is an additional cost for joining a RS team, although the cost is not as great as it is for a Representative team, parents should be prepared to pay approximately $500 to as much as $1000 per player in addition to the CMHA registration fee. Those amounts fluctuate depending on team fundraising efforts, sponsorships, etc. As with REP teams, the head coach and team manager will provide a budget for expected team finances at the beginning of the season, and the team may acquire sponsorship or organize fundraising events to offset the team expenses.
