CMHA Return to Play Committee re Parents in Facility
Hi CMHA membership - An update with regards to minor hockey in Collingwood this coming year. After many weeks of planning and awaiting approval of CMHA's framework for Return to Play, we still don't have an answer from the Town of Collingwood. We do know that their position remains firm on "no spectators". I want to make it clear that the CMHA's Return to Hockey committee disagrees with this position.
In keeping with Public Health Unit guidelines and many other Communities, we recommend 1 Parent : 1 Skater. in the facility. This is because the Province of Ontario allows for it, and also because PHU's support it. Not only that, but to allow for proper supervision of your children for safety reasons and maybe if not to just enjoy your child's childhood! This is able to happen while keeping safe distancing and/or face covering. What needs to happen is for the membership to continue to express their concerns for the Town's decision and hope to lead them to a more reasonable framework.
