Legion Vets Win in Thorold
The Collingwood Legion Vets captured another tournament championship by winning the 2013 Thorold Beaverloch Farms tournament this weekend. The team opened the weekend Friday with a solid 5-1 victory over Niagara on the Lake then followed that with a tough come from behind win over Lambton Shores 3-2 with a depleted line-up. On Saturday the day started with a convincing 6-1 win over Glanbrook and ended late Saturday night with a 4-2 loss to the host Thorold team. After the round robin the Legion Vets finished in second place which setup another meeting Sunday with Lambton Shores in the semi Final.
This time with a full line-up and Lambton Shores faced with a depleted squad, the Legion Vets walked away with a 6-0 win. In the final the Legion Vets controlled the Thorold team skating to victory with a 3-1 win. Congrats to the players on winning your second tournament championship this season.
