π Blades of Steel: U11 Jr. Blues Forge an Undefeated Path to the Tournament Crown
The U11 Collingwood Jr. Blues LL2 entered the Orr Lake Hat Trick Tournament in Wasaga Beach and Elmvale (Nov 28–30) looking like a well-oiled machine — but they left looking more like a full-scale steel mill. With a perfect undefeated run and a championship banner now hammered into their season’s legacy, these Jr. Blues proved they were the hardest metal on the ice.
Round Robin Dominance
They opened the tournament by melting down Coldwater with a commanding 10–2 win, then followed it up with a smothering 8–0 shutout over Elmvale — a game led by Gordon Haines with an unbelievable 8-point performance.
Two blowout wins = first place = a bye to Saturday’s semifinals.
Semifinal: The Rematch
Coldwater came knocking again — but the Jr. Blues answered with another 10–2 statement win, powered by an electric performance from Ethan Mitchell, who buried six straight for a double hat trick.
Championship vs Penetang Flames 2
Penetang rolled in undefeated all season… until they met Jackson Pettipas. The Jr. Blues’ goaltender turned into a human steel door, turning aside everything the Flames threw at him.
Every line stepped up, every shift mattered, and every player showed iron-willed focus.
The boys struck six times and walked away with a 6–1 final and the tournament crown.
A huge thank-you to their sponsor, Ironworkers Local 721 Toronto, for supporting these champions.
